Description: The Dakota is a Limited Edition pet that most resembles an African wild dog, which is reflected in Safari Dakotas. This pet is mainly obtained via purchasing Account Upgrades.
List of Account Upgrades: After being introduced in the November 2007 Ice Fairy AU, the Dakota has since been re-released in the June 2012 Underwater, January 2014 Steampunk, January 2017 Fancy, and September 2018 Pixel AUs.

Revamp: The Dakota was redrawn on 22nd December 2016, making its head and fur more defined while also simplifying its ear hair and face markings. It was also given proper paws (as opposed to tiny hands) and a bushier tail. Some Maradans thought that this new design had a too small neck, making the Dakota resemble the bobblehead version of its former self. Also, like the Snookle, the revamped Steampunk Dakota was given a old-fashioned cartoon look.

Official Description: Dakotas are friendly pets that like nothing more than finding things to chase and jumping out of bushes shouting "boo!"
